Sanasar
Cup-shaped meadow and paragliding valley near Patnitop
About 20 km beyond Patnitop, Sanasar is a cup-shaped meadow ringed by tall conifers at roughly 2,050 metres — greener, quieter and far less built-up than its famous neighbour.
It's best known for paragliding over the valley, but the small lake, the Naag (serpent) temple and the open grass make it a lovely half-day away from the crowds.
Why go
Sanasar is the region's paragliding spot, with tandem flights over the meadow in season. Even if you skip the flying, the walk around the bowl, the little lake and the pine-shaded picnic spots make it worth the short detour from Patnitop.
