Patnitop

Pine-clad hill station on the Jammu–Srinagar road

Perched at about 2,024 metres on the Jammu–Srinagar highway, Patnitop is the easiest hill escape in the Jammu region — deodar forests, open meadows and cool mountain air just a few hours from the plains.

Most travellers fold it into the drive to Kashmir or a Katra trip, staying a night to walk the pine trails, ride up to Nathatop, and — through winter — let the children loose in the snow.

What to see and do

Ramble the meadows and cedar trails around the town, drive up to Nathatop for wider Himalayan views, and in winter try the gentle ski and snow-play slopes. The short road on to Sanasar — a cup-shaped meadow with paragliding — is an easy, scenic add-on.

Getting there

Patnitop sits right on NH44, about 110 km from Jammu and roughly 50 km from Katra, so it slots naturally into a Vaishno Devi trip or the Kashmir drive. Our drivers handle the ghat road, the viewpoint stops and hotel drop-off, and time the run to avoid the highway's afternoon convoys.
