Mansar Lake
Sacred forest-ringed lake near Jammu
About 62 km east of Jammu, Mansar is a quiet lake wrapped in forested hills — a place of pilgrimage as much as a picnic spot.
A walk around the water passes the Sheshnag shrine and smaller temples, and gentle boating makes it an easy, restful half-day from the city or a stop on the way in.
At the lake
Circle the lake on the shaded path, visit the Sheshnag (serpent) temple and the shrines on the bank, and take a short boat ride on the calm water. Newly-weds traditionally walk the lake for blessings; the whole visit is slow and unhurried.

Mansar is about 62 km from Jammu, an easy 1.5-hour drive, and is often paired with the nearby Surinsar Lake. Our drivers handle the city exit, the lakeside parking and a relaxed timeline so you're not rushing the walk.
